On tap at the Idle Rich pub in Dallas in a 1/2 liter mug (Spaten) First off, I like slightly sweet October beers. This one was served with a nice 1 inch head (space in the mug for 1/2 liter beer and 1 inch of head) very amber with golden hints from the sunlight. The aroma is strong with spicy malt and fruit. Lots of malt, richness and sweetness layered in with a roasted caramel flavor to the tongue. Medium to full body with a touch of lingering sweetness and hint of carbonation. Very Drinkable. Notice I used sweet frequently, it is not a sugary beer, but balanced and likely to be considered more of a desert beer by most drinkers. I like the overall presentation and drinkablility. Will miss it once the kegs are gone and look forward to next year.

On draft at State Street Pub & Grill (Garland, TX). Attractive dark, semi translucent reddish amber with quickly dissipating creamy white head that leaves no lacing. Light aroma of sweet malt, taste is same with a small hint of roasted malt. Fairly creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation and little aftertaste... just a touch of bitter malt. A good example of the style.

Lost rating from last fall. Amber pour with a finger of white head. Caramel and toffee, quite sweet with some earthy and yeasty notes.

Draught in Austin. Murky brown not much head. Sticky sweet malts, mildly nutty ok but not great.

2014 Bottle - Pours a copper color, malty aroma with a slight hint of hop bitterness. Flavor is malty but slightly sweet.

Pours a copper color with off-white head. Caramel malt and toast on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with some malt character.

Pours brown with large tan head. Aroma of nuts and chocolate. Very good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

For the style, not a bad beer. Malts are king here on the aroma with some grainy sourness and bread. Copper color that simply had an autumn feel to it. Weighty palate with a thicker feel than expected. The flavor started off with a sour malt but finished with a roasted nuttiness that I really liked. This made it stand out for me. One of the better Texas offerings for this style.

Draught at the Franconia Brewery, McKinney, TX. A big thank you to Eric!
Hazy brown colour with an average sized tan head. The aroma is grainy malty with some bitterish notes. The flavour is strong grainy malty. Very German like brew. Tasty.

One of the best oktoberfest beers that I have had this season. On tap at Mongoose versus Cobra in Houston. Very tasty fall beer with caramel and toffee notes ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Muddy amber color. Smell is malt, earth, and a little old grain. Medium body. Taste is toasted malt, woody, caramel, and copper. Finish is clean and smooth. A decent fall brew from my local brewery.
