Medium chestnut colored, thin head, lots of carbonation. Earthy malt and nutty aroma, like a cross between a dunkel and an English brown. Hazelnut and roasty malt flavors are quite distinctive, and intercepted by an adequate bitterness, touch of sourness. Light bodied, not as fizzy as expected, with a lingering finish. My first of the style, and I quite enjoyed it.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
First time drinking an Altbier: nice combination of a classic pilsener taste with more body, more sweetness and a touch of spices.
Malty, sweet, caramel, a bit spices and a hint of coffee/cocoa(?) The aftertaste is quite bitter and hoppy. Good combination and easy to drink.

Bottle 3 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a medium off-white head and an aroma of roasted malts, bitter hops, toffeem and fish. The taste is slightly sweet with more hoppy and earthy complexities. Kind of nice.

Pours a brilliant hazelnut brown color with a big, froth, white head, which coats the glass the entire time.
Smells of toasted rustic bread, a lactic tartness and sweet toffee malts creating a nice harmony on the nose.
Drinks soft and light with a pleasantly effervescent finish.
Tastes of toasty malts from the very beginning with lots of accompanying whole grain bread crust and a subtle toffee note. Sweeter during the midpalate with a glazed caramel peak, toned down by earth, bakers chocolate and a whiff of leaves. Finishes chocolaty wirh a pleasant dry note, together with earthen malts and an aqueous softness, after the effervescence has left the palate.
Very nice, heavily relying on the malts, while producing a surprisongly unique, harmonious and intriguing flavor profile.

Prezent od Kuby. Bardzo fajne, złożone, a przy tym lekkie piwo. Karmelowe, podpiekane i nieco orzechowe. Zbudowała się potężna i trwała piana. Spoko.

Clear dark brown body with huge off-white head. Aroma is iron, some cocoa powder and spices. Very toffee taste, sweet caramel, roasted notes. Watery, soft carbonated. Fine enough, great for a price.

Tap at Hajos in Rosheim. Rich fresh malt notes of nut, oak and flower. Molasses and fruit in the harsh finish. Plenty of bread and malt. Decent drink.
