Draft. Very malty aroma with a caramel flavor with hint bitterness. Pretty average red.

The red color was good, but the flavor was not that exciting. transferring from old system. sudomorph (1153) - Barrie, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 11, 2015
12oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep caramel with a half finger, off white head. Aroma has a great aroma of dark fruits, caramel, bread, and mild, traditional hops. Taste is balanced. Caramel, bread, hints of darker fruits, and a shadow of roast. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with an easy drinking texture. Overall a nice, easy drinking, beer with good flavours of caramel, bread, and a touch of darker fruits. Motobashi (107) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 31, 2014
Bottle. Poured and clear red to a thin tan head which dissipated moderately quickly. No real lacing. Active carbonation. Light malt and caramel aroma. Slightly sweet flavour with just a hint of bitterness. A fair beer. gilvanblight (825) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 9, 2014
Roasty sweet nose on this clear red pour. Lots of roasty maltys and tonsnof caramel. Well balanced and easy to drink. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAY 19, 2014
Its nice to find more notes from a time I spent in Michigan.
I had this nice beer about two years ago and hereís my take on it.
I poured it into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice amber/brown color with about a finger and a half of a somewhat creamy to off-white sort of color coating the top of the glass.
The smell was somewhat malty and soapy. There really wasnít much hops anywhere.
The taste was basically sweet but didnít indicate much for a desirability. There was a slight soapy malty aftertaste with a quick dry finish.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation seemed okay for the style and for me as it was somewhat creamy and smooth.
Overall, its an Irish Red Ale, perhaps not a go to style for me, but it was nice to try. Would I have this again? Perhaps only with a steak as thatís the usual recommendation for Irish Reds.

The best beer to be found in my opinion at the brewery Besides Twisted Helles. I like the flavor and itís not too dark to be enjoyed while eating the food offered at the brewery. marv3mania (185) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 16, 2013
Bottle poured into pint glass. Semi-translucent copper color with thin off-white head. Aroma is malt and caramel, though it doesnít smell as pleasant as other Irish ales. Taste is a watery version of the smell. Not all that substantive, though it doesnít taste bad. The palate is fairly watery as well. This isnít a very unexciting beer, though certainly not bad. 12oz bottle poured into a Samuel Adams "Perfect Pint" glass.
Appearance: A crystal clear dark amber/brown color with about two fingers worth of a somewhat creamy and bubbly head. Lacing is actually really quite nice, considering the lack of much of a head.
Smell: When I first cracked the bottle open, I got a whiff of soy sauce. That smell at least faded away. Afterwards, I didnít get much else. A faint note of malt with a metallic smell as well. Very "blah".
Taste/feel: Quite muted, like the aroma. Pretty sweet with malts, and dark fruits or something like that. The biggest turn off for me here is what I seem to get in some beers -- a Diet Coke aftertaste. Not to say it tastes like Coke, but it has that artificial sweetener taste. Maybe some sort of fruit extract? I donít know. Not a very interesting beer, but quite drinkable... it would be much MORE drinkable if it werenít for that fake sugar taste. The feel on this beer is the best part about it... pretty lightly carbonated with a somewhat creamy feel.
Overall, itís just not that great of a beer. Bad by no means, but the beer would be much better if it had more of an aroma to it, and didnít have that odd, unnatural tasting aftertaste. rumproasts (5342) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAR 5, 2013
bottle. red amber with small head. Subpar Irish ale, though to be fair, I hate just about all Irish ales. flavor is just unpleasant. looks nice though thedm (6148) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - DEC 31, 2012
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent light orange brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was malty and musty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of mild nut mild hops brown malt and malt. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.
