Pours a solid dark amber brown with thin tan head, no lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt up front and dominant. Flavor matches and has a bit of graininess. Surprisingly full bodied. Pretty decent.
From old tasting notes. Translucent brown color with red highlights.thick tan head. Buttery toasted malt nose. Rich roasted malt flavor has subtle notes of licorice. Bittersweet malty finish. Long chewy malty aftertaste. chucklemation (1798) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - FEB 15, 2015
Pours a copper color with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and malts. Flavor is sweet caramel with some toffee. This is just ok. It gets more flavor as it warms up, but some of those flavors aren’t too pleasant. Motobashi (107) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 9, 2014
Poured an amber colour with very little head that immediately dissipated to nothing. Lively carbonation. Nice, sweet caramel aroma. Wonderful, familiar flavor that I can’t quite place. Sweet finish. Nice carbonation release over the tongue. The alcohol content surprisingly doesn’t overpower, even though it’s high at 7%. I could drink several of these and not lose interest. Nice. Bottle. Chocolate and toffee malt aroma. Chestnut brown with moderate tan head. Sweet chocolate-toffee malt flavor. Hint of alcohol in the finish. Nice beer. marv3mania (195) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 21, 2013
Bottle poured into lager glass. Copper-brown color with minimal tan head. Aroma is very rich, lightly roasted malt. Taste is malt, caramel, chocolate, and light molasses. Good feel. Overall, I’m not that impressed. Onslow (1541) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - FEB 23, 2013
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Medium brown brew with tan head that soon fizzles. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, a little hops and a little ethanol. Taste is sweet caramel, some chocolate, roasted grain; a nice dryness emerges late int he swallow and slakes the sweetness at the end of the swallow. Palate is average, a little sticky. A very enjoyable brew. johnnyoski (445) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Bottle. Dark red pour with a very thin tan head. Aroma: Caramel and toasted malt. Taste: Sweet mixture of caramel and malt with a smooth, semi-dry finish. Palate: Average carbonation, sticky texture and medium bodied. A much better effort than some of their other offerings. demitriustown (1192) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - NOV 9, 2012
12 oz bottle: Aroma is a malty but fruity note, bubble gum mixed with nice roasted toasted malts. Appearance is a clear brown with an off white head that diminishes quickly to a soapy film. Taste has got a really nice balanced flavor, wheat notes, malts, and yeast. Palate is medium to high carbonation with a lingering malt aftertaste. Overall, Good stuff. Cheers!
