From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden orange to amber with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity, toasted malty and light caramelish. Caramelish to toasted malty flavoured, solid fruity hops character showing through. Smooth fruity and crisp bitter into a dry and fruity finish. On tap: pours a clear deep copper with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a fresh resinous hoppy nose with sweet caramel malty undertones. Starts with good fullness and sweet light caramel malt and toffee with lots of citrus and piny hop flavor before a lingering bittersweet finish with some rye character. True to style and enjoyable. nimbleprop (8382) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUL 6, 2012

Draft. Showed up at the table a murky rust color with a smallish antique white head. The spicy aroma featured lots of juicy grapefruits, citrus rinds, caramel, a big biscuity maltiness, and some freshly baked rye bread. Went down full-bodied, rich, smooth, and just a tad sticky. Upfront taste-wise was lots of caramel and a rich, freshly baked rye breadiness. There was a big biscuity middle. The bitter finish featured lots of citrus rinds and grapefruits. There was a lingering dryness. Plenty of warming alcohol was present throughout and only added to the depth of this rich brew. Excellent!
