Multiple pours from a growler, thanks Mike. Pours copper in color with a off white head - was suprised by the appearance, thought it would have been a bit lighter in color. Aroma has a good amount of citrus - grapefruit, and apricot/peach as well as some pine. Taste is assertively hoppy with a fairly strong bitterness, as well as a good amount of citrus and piney hop flavor. The darker crystal malt in this, coupled with the sugar to lighten the body seemed to make the body feel a bit thinner than it actually was. This was nice and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more.

On tap at the brewpub: Transparent copper orange pour has a stringy-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of fresh grapefruity hops with some light caramel malty undertones. Starts with pretty good fullness and mild toasty pale malty sweetness giving way to an assertive grapefruity bittering hoppiness before a drier lingering bitter finish. Draft on 03/19/10. Came to the table a hazy rust color with a smallish tan head. A very pungent aroma loaded with hoppiness. Plenty of grapefruits, pine needles, oranges, and lemon zest in the mix. It’s pretty much all downhill from there. Goes down very thin-bodied and watery with practically no malty backbone whatsoever. There’s still a great deal of grapefruits and orange rinds in the flavor, just nothing to balance them out. Think of grapefruit-flavored seltzer water. The drying finish lingers. This one definitely feels rushed. C’mon Mike! You’re better than this!
