Cask gravity at GBBF, Trade Day 03-08-10 Pours amber this is another good looker, some stray bubbles around the edge. The aroma is a touch sweet & malty but there are some resinous hops there also. Thick and substantial feel in the mouth, nice bittersweetness going on, some malts and tropical fruits also detected. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4 lamas (1636) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Draft on 07/18/10. Came to the table a slightly hazy copper color with a skim of a tan head. A moderately pungent aroma of grapefruits, pine, caramel, and some biscuitiness. Medium-bodied. The flavor starts with a decent amount of caramel and a biscuity maltiness. Lots of grapefruits follow. Kinda resiny at the end. A touch of warming alcohol underneath it all. Quite tasty. On tap at Franklin’s. Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, grapefruit. Nicely bitter good strong hop presence. Malt backbone isn’t quite up to the task bit really nice DIPA offering. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 18, 2010
Pours a clear bronze orange with a thin ring of white bubbles. Has a fresh assertive grapefruity hop nose with light caramel malty sweet notes. Starts with good fullness and sweet lightly toasted pale malts with a juicy resiny hop flavor and bitterness for balance before a citrusy bittersweet finish. A very nice double ipa, it just could’ve used a little more head. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 18, 2010
