Pours a clear bronze orange with a thin ring of white bubbles. Has a fresh assertive grapefruity hop nose with light caramel malty sweet notes. Starts with good fullness and sweet lightly toasted pale malts with a juicy resiny hop flavor and bitterness for balance before a citrusy bittersweet finish. A very nice double ipa, it just could’ve used a little more head.

Tap at Franklins. Hazy orange-brown body, creamy white head. Very clean citrus hop flavors with a cleanish body as well. Quite refreshing and palatable for a IIPA, while still being bold. Nice toffee caramel tones. Overall quite balanced. Solid, fruity hop character, some pine.

Growler at jimmack’s invitational ’10. Poured a clear orange body with a small foamy white head. Aroma of citrus hops, grapefruit, toast and cereal. Dry citrus flavors with grains and toast and a touch of sweet honey. Great palate with a medium body with strong bubbly tight carbonation and a bitter lingering finish. Really nice.

Draft on 07/18/10. Came to the table a slightly hazy copper color with a skim of a tan head. A moderately pungent aroma of grapefruits, pine, caramel, and some biscuitiness. Medium-bodied. The flavor starts with a decent amount of caramel and a biscuity maltiness. Lots of grapefruits follow. Kinda resiny at the end. A touch of warming alcohol underneath it all. Quite tasty.
