Draft on 12/31/12. Showed up at the table a deep mahogany color with a smallish khaki head. There was a pleasant aroma of spruce, caramel, soil, pine, dark chocolate, and some bitter roasted black coffee. Went down medium-bodied and a tad sticky. The taste started with some caramel. There was an ample graininess in the middle. The bitter finish included plenty of roasted black coffee and dark chocolate. Earthy. Moderately harsh. I’m not the biggest fan of this style, but this was enjoyable.
