12 oz. bottle. Poured a cloudy yellow/orange with a pillowy white foam head. Streaming bubbles. Lots of yeast and wheat in the aroma, like half-baked bread dough. Rich bready wheat malt and yeast flavors, with underlying citrus notes and what seems like a "dusting" of nutmeg over the top. Full and smooth mouthfeel. Nice. No lemon required.

Looks like a cloudy apple cider. Light golden with a thick white head, seems stable. The nose is rather wheaty. Banana, some apple, a little tart lemon. Rather creamy, nicely balanced. This is perfectly mouthfilling in texture. Creamy without an abundance of carbonation. Perfectly appropriate for a session style. The flavors are in line with the aroma, though perhaps more captivating. An apple cider acidity balances an banana sweetness. Slightly spicy lemon tartness, with some cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Really remarkably clean for the style, and quite enjoyable to me, who dislikes the style. A tart lively finish with a lingering wheat acidity finish. This really is rather good, not even just for the style

Pours hazy and orange colour with a big fluffy head and some sediment. Yeasty aroma has wheat, banana, citrusfruits. Mouthfeel is quite biting a first but softens when the beer gets a bit warmer. A very tasty weissbier indeed.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden with a one finger white head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma is very yeasty with notes of citrus, bananas, wheat, and light cloves. Taste is the same as aroma with a mild bitterness. A very refreshing and delicious Hefe.

Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - MAY 5, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2008 Bottle 50cl. A hazy orange beer with a nice, fairly big head. Very beautiful soft aromas of wheat, ripe fruits which include lemon, oranges, bananas, some cloves. Mildly spicy. Very nice nose indeed. Not much hops in the taste at all. The flavors are really dominated by the wheat. Impressive mouthfeel. An extremly refreshing beer. Good maltiness. A very enjoyable Hefeweizen with a slight spicy finish. Rerate: Some interesting hint of carrots (?!) in the taste.

BINGEBOT (240) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2007
Slightly metallic in scent with a hint of sweets, butter, malts. Dark amber in colour with a consistent white head. Tastes of sweet and spice, malty, metallic. Not bad, not great overall.

riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAY 1, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 14, 2007 Aroma of clove. Orange in color. Flavor is clove clovey and mildly banana. Very carbonated probably due to pastuerization. Spicy on the palate. Very large head. Ends smooth.

Orange glow, letting some light through. Dusty grass aroma with flashes of lemon. Concentrated banana flavor with green apple. Quite dry at first, with an odd, almost painful acetic flourish in the finish. Still a quaffable refresher.

Just the perfect beer! If I had to come up with the prototypical Bavarian wheat beer, this would be it. From a bottle poured into a weitzen glass, beautiful hazy golden color, and yes those are chucks of yeast floating about, with a great four finger head. Smell is bannanas with a touch of citrus, where the taste is the reverse, with a nice dry tangy finish. As with all good hefe-weitzens, this goes down super-smooth and easily makes it a great session beer.

BeerBiker (1415) - Odense, DENMARK - APR 26, 2007
Hazy orange beer with big head with aromanotes of hospital, yeast, banana and an example of a good mainstream Hefe-Bier. Flavor is similar, but needs some to reach Maisels.
