3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a nice light yellow with a really good foamy head. Scents of cinnamon, yeast and wheat. VERY effervescent, very light, on the lines of a brut champagne. Very light mouthfeel, with some clove midway through the taste. Some light sugary sweetness.

Hazy straw colored pour with a 2 finger, effervescent white head. Strong bannana clove aroma w/ hints of honey and some yeastiness. Big sweet bannana clove flavor up front w/ a refreshing dry wheat finish. Medium, sticky body.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2007 This is a GREAT beer. Paulaner has a very similar hefe, which I silghtly prefer for its slightly stronger banana and weaker lemon tones. Nice cloves, smoothness, drinkability, refreshing. I’d take either hefe any day, though best in Summer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this in Nelson Bay. Don’t know if it was the setting but his was a wonderfully balanced satisfying wheat beer for a Sunday afternoon. A benchmark in drinkable simple beers.

On tap - plastic cup. The poor serving probably skewed my opinion towards the negative, so I tried to think back to previous Franziskaners from years past. Nice Hefe look with pleasant wheaty aroma. Taste was OK - smooth and sweet. I will have to try again with a bottled version.

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A wonderful German wheat beer with the perfect blend of yeast and wheaty flavors with a very fruity aroma. The dark version is much better in the falovor category but this is still a wonderful beer. Even my non-adventourous wife will savor every drop. The perfect weiss to use as a benchmark when learning to appreciate this category.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Hazy golden with typical enormous white, wheat head (does marijuana beers come with a "pot" head?). Banana, wheat and yeast in aroma. Sweet, malty, yeasty flavour. Not bad...

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pale yellow, hazy pour with huge, frothy white head. I thought this was a solid hefe. Sweet, yeasty, wheaty, fruity nose that is dominated by banana esters. The flavor hit on coriander, allspice and sweet fruits, especially banana. Slight lemon flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation, short finish.
