Bottle. Tasted like a banana milkshake with an orange twist. Good mild wheat. Flavors do not overpower between light sweetness and light bitterness. Good lasting head, amber color, lively medium body. Very refreshing and smooth, but very mild.

This Hefe is on the high-end of average. Had on tap in .5 l weizen glass. Nice hazy look, with nice mound on top. Solid Hefe flacors - some yeast, some citrus, a little banana perhaps. Nice wheat nose, solid mouthfeel.

Sorry - Not a big wheat beer fan. I like hops way too much to be able to rate a wheat very highly. Dispite this personal deficiency, the Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse is very drinkable. It’s like drinking a nice cheese - it really has a food quality with a solid mouth presence. Forget the cloudy, disappearing head appearance. This beer, all 1/2 liter will supply a pleasant, well-balanced drinking experience on a warm day.

Draft. Hazy orange color, with white head. Wheat flavor, wheat aroma. A little too dry for my tastes, but then again I made the mistake of drinking it on a resturant patio on a Virginia summer.

From 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy pale gold with an enormous frothy ivory head. Smells of lemon and clove. Faint banana, faint skunk (I assume from the green bottle). Sweet wheat malt. More pronounced banana here, less clove and lemon. Smooth creamy mouth. Clove in the finish. Tasty and goes down easy. One of my summer favorites.

Pours orange with white head. The foam doesn’t lace the glass particularly well. The beer is a little cloudy. The aroma is largely of wheat - very doughy smell. The flavor is very wheaty. The phenols from the yeast and the overall flavor is a little mild compared to some other authentic hefeweizen, but still a tasty beer. It tastes like bready wheat, with just enough hops to balance. The mouthfeel is a little thin (thanks to a lot of carbonation zip) and little dry. I think I would order a Paulaner or Wiehenstephaner hefeweizen first though.

Bottle. Cloudy orange with a giant white foamy head. Standard hefe things going on with banana, citrus, and clove. Solid summer brew.

Had this on tap at Taco Mac. Nice dense head with great lacing. Aroma is heavier on clove than some other hefe’s. It also had a little more of a hint of hope/citrusy. Taste had a little more of a bit than some others and more of malt presence. Definitley a decent hefe, but not quite as good as some others.

Bottled. Unclear, slightly hazy orange beer with a nice white head. Banana, spice, slightly lemony aroma with hints of yeast and cellar. Sparkling, medium to thin mouthfeel and a flavor with banana, cloves, some yeast and citrus. Nice and refreshing with some bitterness in the finish. Like it. Goes very well with summer heat.
