This hefe sadly a letdown. For what you get at the average price it’s completly unjustified. A much cheaper Hefeweizen can do the trick. Mine not served with orange. The flavor is very low carbonation, fairly light and watery flavor, a very unlasting finish. fonefan (49427) - VestJylland, DENMARK - AUG 12, 2006
Bottle. Unclear, slightly hazy orange beer with a nice white head. Banana, spice, slightly lemony aroma with hints of yeast and cellar. Sparkling, medium to thin mouthfeel and a flavor with banana, cloves, some yeast and citrus. Nice and refreshing with some bitterness in the finish. optemoz (171) - Apex, North Carolina, USA - AUG 11, 2006
Bottle - pours a very hazy yellowish orange.. Aroma is citrusy with yeast and hints of bananas ....Now the flavor is another story .. tastes very bland for a hefe , but tolerable the problem is its WATERY! and it ruined the experience for me.... not a good beer IMO altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - AUG 10, 2006
Bottle at home. A tangy white beer. It was pretty bitter and had no kick at the end. Not a fan of white beers so unimpressed. Finn (7547) - Tromsø, NORWAY - AUG 8, 2006
Bottle 0,5l. Golden almost yellow colour. A large white head. Did not find any distiction: A standard german weissbier, but found it rather watery.

500ml bottle shared with Finn. Pillow head. Pale yellow body. Aroma of coriander and wheat. Sweet banana flavour. Diluted and dull. shigadeyo (3740) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 5, 2006
I’ve had this in bottles, but most recently I had it on draught. Light orange and cloudy in appearance, not too much carbonation. This beer has good sweet and almost spicy flavor to it. Aroma and flavor is wheat, banana, and citrus. The draught version seems more spicy or something and seems to have a less hoppy flavor. This is a great hefe that I always enjoy drinking when I find it on draught.
22 oz draught, $5.75 at the Winking Lizard Tavern (Crosswoods). marchcow (664) - Coralville, Iowa, USA - AUG 4, 2006
Bottle. Tasted like a banana milkshake with an orange twist. Good mild wheat. Flavors do not overpower between light sweetness and light bitterness. Good lasting head, amber color, lively medium body. Very refreshing and smooth, but very mild. stoutchap (423) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 2, 2006
This Hefe is on the high-end of average. Had on tap in .5 l weizen glass. Nice hazy look, with nice mound on top. Solid Hefe flacors - some yeast, some citrus, a little banana perhaps. Nice wheat nose, solid mouthfeel. alfamac (1) - USA - AUG 1, 2006 does not count
Sorry - Not a big wheat beer fan. I like hops way too much to be able to rate a wheat very highly. Dispite this personal deficiency, the Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse is very drinkable. It’s like drinking a nice cheese - it really has a food quality with a solid mouth presence. Forget the cloudy, disappearing head appearance. This beer, all 1/2 liter will supply a pleasant, well-balanced drinking experience on a warm day.
