4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From tap in the USA. Light and slightly cloudy with a large head. Aroma of yeast which sweetens the taste. Very nice on the palate, a full bodied beer. A little bit watery compared to some other hefeweizens I’ve tried in Germany.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
An American purchase. Upon open, a sweet aroma of apples. Poured into a tipped glass as suggested, heavy foam that did not dissipate. With glass straight, I poured the remainder of the bottle into the glass. The beer was very cloudy reddish-brown. Taste was similsr to an apple cider. Being an American, I was overcome by the wonderful flavour of this drink (being used to Budweiser as what beer is supposed to taste like). This beer would be wonderful with a beef roast suc as a Standing Rib or a Rolled Rib with Au Jus. Definitely worth buying. I would love to try a fresh bottle, and not one that was sitting on the shelve for probably a year. This beer is sold in Erie PA. at a distributor called Penn Beer.

A lightly cloudly heefe. spare head with sparse lacing, possibly due to the adition of lemon. Flavour is good, but lacking a stronger component. Very Drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2005 Re-rate: I’ve had bottles in various parts of Germany, have been pleased with each. Pleasing and on the sweet side, one of the better Hefeweizen. Cloudy concoction that’s a beautiful, light golden color up top and slightly darker at the bottom. Hoppy aroma. Good level of carbonation, sticky head, smooth creamy mouthfeel. There’s some banana in there, and a bit of a fruity aftertaste, nothing bitter. Refreshing!.

(bottle) Hazy yellow colour with a big fluffy white head. Soft wheat malty aroma with light yeasty banana-fruity notes and cloves. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied, lively carbonated mouthfeel. Wheat malty and yeasty taste with banana and citrus notes, light-sweetbitter malty finish with traces of floral hops. Decent quaffable everywhere-to-get Weizen.

US Bottle Pour - Beautiful yellow-amber body with large white head... slightly cloudy. Deliciously sweet and citrusy with spices in the aroma. Medium creamy body with sweet malty flavors... leads to a very mild and sweet aftertaste. Absolutely delicious.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Chalet Alpina, Forest Hills, Queens, NYC. Cloudy yellow-orange hued beer having a long-lasting giant white head. Soft carbonation. Fresh sweet malt, spicy clove, and citrus aromas. Light-to-medium bodied that starts with a creamy slightly sweet malt with spicy flavors and finishes clean with no discernable aftertaste. A refreshing and delicious hefeweisse beer. Goes great with smoked pork loin and pickled red cabbage.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Beautiful glowing apricot-gold with a thick, rocky white head. The nose revealed a similar level of quality, expressing sweet orange spice and enticing clove aromas. Some fruit spice and very subdued banana. However, the flavours emerging felt somehow disharmonious; sparkling citrus and savoury wheat with some background DMS echoes. Nevertheless, this is a pleasing and racy little number that I feel is one of the great Hefe’s.
