Opaque black beer, decent brown head. Some smoke on the nose. Dry palate. Dry dark malt, minerals and smoke. Soem fruit in the undertone. Dry finish. Not sure what the oaking has brought to this beer. It’s too dry be far and too smoky.
Bottle. A dense, creamy, finger-thick light tan head sits on top of dark brown to black body. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla notes and a hint of cellar and licorice. Some dark dried fruits. The flavor has a strange touch of olives and something woody, in addition to the roasted malts, dark chocolate and dark dried fruits found in the aroma. Smooth, soft and quite dry on the palate, finishing with chocolate and bitterenss. Sure a pleasant imp porter. 120914 gunnfryd (14815) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 27, 2012
