Bottle bought at GBBF 2016. 4.6%. Smoked on opening! Poured black with a luxurious looking tan colour head. Aroma of strong dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruit and molasses. Moderate milky chocolate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Light to medium body, texture a bit oily/watery, carbonation too fizzy initially but reduced after a while. Finish is mellow chocolate. A very good brew.

Chocolate, dark, ripe fruits, pralines, toasted malts. Hazy, very dark brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light bitter. More chocolate, dark, toasted malts, light bitterness continues, soft carbonation, light citrus fruits in the finish. Nice Stout, well-balanced. Keg at the Italian Job, Chiswick.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2015 Damn solid stout. Aroma of roasted malts. An intense Italian espresso taste, with some warming feeling into an appreciable ending that matches and completes the kickstarted beginning. Bravo.

Ragnampiza (751) - Rome / Lecce, ITALY - MAY 21, 2015
250 ml on tap at The Factory. Pitch black, no light passing through, with a nice, creamy and persistent light beige head. On the nose American coffee, licorice, roasted malts, just a hint of cinnamon and a subtle black olives reminiscence. Quite watery and thin with an aggressive and extreme bitterness. Watered down coffee taste, light astringency, again licorice in the aftertaste. Nice.

Cask at Open Baladin, Roma, 21/06/13. Pitch black with a big dirty tan head - this fella looks the bollocks! Nose is roast malt, chocolate maltesers, cocal powder, light sugar. Taste comprises a good roasty bite, dark chocolate, earthy. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate. Overall this looks and feels great, such an easy drinker. Aroma and taste, whilst acceptable, lack a little depth though.
