COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Ale is the first brewed in Kansas since the pioneering days. The name "Ad Astra" comes from the Kansas State Motto - Ad Astra per Aspera, Latin words meaning "To the Stars Through Difficulties". We’ve blended Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts for a rich amber beer. The hops balance this malty sweetness, and we’ve chosen Northern Brewer and Fuggles hops for their flavor.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear amber with a slight orange hue and a white head that lasted throughout the beer and laced nicely. Aroma has a bit of grassy hops and light pine backed by a nice earthy grain note. Flavor was similar with a slight bitterness of grass and pine but mainly had earthy malt notes of grains.

On tap at Flying Saucer in Kansas City. Off-white foamy head with lots of lacing, medium brown/amber color. The aroma smells like oatmeal cookies, maybe a bit of yeast. The flavor is very light, with more oatmeal, yeast, and a slight nutty flavor.

AROMA: caramel, grains, toast, slight coffee; APPEARANCE:medium brown colour with red highlights, clear, nice thick lacing, big massive thick ice cream float head; TASTE: a little bitter a little sour, a little sweet - just little; PALATE:creamy, not at all spritzy, quick finish. OVERALL: Its like the forgot to bring the aroma and the taste, so average.

so sleepy.. Pours out a dark gold, good foam, decent lacing .. . light malts, cereal, and bread .. . medium mouthfeel .. . pretty simple but doesn’t offend .. . Fame was like a drug. But what was even more like a drug were the drugs.

Brick red color, clear look, cream colored head. The smell is toasty, bready, whole grains, definite malt forward, and good. The taste is just like the smell. Not bad.
