Bottle thanks to RobertDale! Pours clear orange with a small off-white head that dissipates quickly leaving some lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel and grain. Taste follows suit, medium sweet and a very light grassy bitterness sitting on top of a pilsner and caramel malty base. Not a bad effort at all. BOSSbrewer (2705) - Arkansas, USA - SEP 5, 2013
This is a very drinkable beer but is somewhat sweet. Even a bit too much for me. Had in Lawrence at their tap room. suprchunk (2994) - Crestview, Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2013
Clear amber colored pour with a tint of caramel. Small white head that persists and leaves a bit of lacing behind. Huge malty aroma. Some notes of grainy bread and a slight hint of caramel. Taste is a malt bomb. Delicious and sweet. A tinge of bitterness in the back. Very good beer. jcr (2692) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JUN 15, 2013
Draft. Hazy amber/orange body. Thin off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, orange, light biscuit. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Very sweet taste with raw grainy flavor in the finish. Tap at Free State. High carbonation on clear light amber. Great lacing. Sweet cherry juice box nose. Taste is spicy, mild alcohol, mild fruit tang. Moves to some salt and peppered seasoned tomato. Quite sticky sweet all over.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark golden color bock with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of residual sugar with some biscuit malt. Taste is a mix between some residual sugars with light honey notes with some solid cereal notes. Body is quite full for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable and quaffable with limited complexity. Somewhat too sweet for the style. AbbeyRoade (547) - Missouri, USA - MAY 25, 2013
A characteristic Maibock- slightly sweet, a bitterness present from the hops, and malty notes throughout. Not my cup of tea.....not something I could sit and drink on at all. Every sip demands your full attention and that’s not what I like in a beer. GranvilleTim (1855) - Granville, Illinois, USA - MAY 22, 2013
Thanks Robertdale. Amber pour with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet and some malt. Taste is also sweet and crisp. Very refreshing, leaves a pleasant aftertaste. thomas15 (689) - Alabama, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Aroma is sweet malt, pilsneresque but more copious. Appears dark gold crystal clear. Taste is malt, slight honeyed quality. Straight forward light easy drinking maibock. JeremyLykins (1) - Topeka, Kansas, USA - MAY 6, 2013 does not count
Absolutely delicious! I tried this beer because Free State was giving free samples at my local liquor store and it’s my new favorite beer. I’m a Newcastle drinker, and this beer has all of the Newcastle goodness plus a sweet, chocolately flavor that doesn’t leave any aftertaste but leaves you craving more. I couldn’t ask for anything more in a beer.
