Transparent orange-copper, thin white ring for a head with tiny bubbles. Piney bitterness with some oat in the nose, also some tea. Flavor has some caramel and burnt toast at the front, grapefruit and lemon at the back with some lingering sugar and soapy bitterness. Pretty straightforward IPA. That’s all the effort I can muster.
Thanks to Cheeseman, I think. Pours a clear amber. Aroma of hops, roast, caramel and a little cardboard. Flavors are mostly bitter citrus with some of the burnt roasted notes. Fairly decent. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - APR 1, 2010

Pours an average cheddar orange with an aroma of faint malty melon leaves and bready strawberry. Flavor is fruity and sour grapefruit with orange juice pulp and sweet bready malt in the finish. Lingering mouthfeel. This one bites in a good way. Hissssssss!!! </cheesy outro>
Draft at Free State. Pours an amber body with a white head. Grass y hop body almost green tea or fresh hop character. Herbal with a bittering finish. Good beer. unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - SEP 19, 2009
Tap @ Free State. Amber color. tan head. Spicy aroma of C-hops. Nice cascade. Flavor has a sharp bitterness, yet well balanced with a sweet malt.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear, copper body with a dense and frothy, off-white, finger-width head that dissipates quickly while leaving a good amount of pretty, sticky lacing. Aroma is malty with a medium caramel sweetness and a fainter grapefruit, citrus hop. Flavor is a nice balance with an above average bitterness. Deeper pines and grapefruit with a rounded caramel that adds just a light sweetness. Finishes with a flavorful, dry, medium bitterness and hint of sweetness from the caramel. Plenty of lingering, deep pine and grapefruit aftertaste with just a touch of resin. Medium bodied and smooth with a nice, light crisp finish. Overall, a well balanced, flavorful pale ale. Nice deep pines that last well past the finish. I’m becoming a big fan of the body on all these Free State beers. Solid. drowland (9186) - Georgia, USA - AUG 5, 2009
Had on tap at the brewpub while visiting the university. Big cat-litter hop aroma that goes too far into the flavor. dchmela (3088) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 23, 2009
Thanks to MReusch for the growler. Pours a nice dark copper with a thin white head. Light citrus, bready, bitter earthy aroma. Taste is grapefruit bitterness and bready malt that balance each other very well. Very good ipa or pale ale (whatever it is), very drinkable and nice tasty hops. drjay44 (3894) - Salida, Colorado, USA - MAY 22, 2009
Draft at the brewery. O.G. 1.057, IBU 52.5 Apparently the recipe has changed a little. Pours a thin head, with nice lacing over a golden brown (SRM 15) body...nose of light pine and citrus....tastes early of light malt then late grapefruit bitterness....mouth feel is medium. This is a bit light for an IPA. randolphjj (116) - Raymore, Missouri, USA - APR 5, 2009
on tap at the end of a 43-mile race. good hit of hops and a nice flavor. Beautiful copper color. A great session beer for hop lovers.
