Poured from bottle into snifter, not much head or aroma whatsoever and is a clear deep red/orange...darker than I was expecting. The taste is like a medium hopped bread, very smooth and chuggable (I think the proper term is sessionable, but let’s call it what it is). Quite a big boy for a pale, not quite big enough for an IPA...I like this. A lot.
12oz bottle. Unfiltered amber-brown body. Steady off white head. Old school, antiquated APA. Malty, hoppy, no semblance of finesse to be found. Copperhead Pale Ale has become one of Free State’s best-known brews, so it’s probably good that the Copperhead this beer is named after chose Free State brewmaster Steve Bradt as its prey. Copperhead has a lovely amber shade and cream-colored head. Berry, spice, grass, chocolate, and toffee aromas. The flavor offers a lot of layers with caramel and bread tastes within the malt and hop characteristics redolent of citrus, herbal tea, and cannabis. Feel is creamy, medium-bodied, and pretty bitter. Robe ambrée légèrement opaque. Peu de mousse. Arômes toastés, légèrement métalliques. Très résineuse, amertume marquée mais les saveurs agrumes du houblon sont très faibles. Plutôt aqueuse, moyennement longue en bouche.
Une pale ale médiocre.

Copper pour. Small off-white head. Nose is toasty malt, earthy hops, burnt sugar. Burnt-toast malty profile, slight sweetness, earthy and piney hops. Medium body. Resin and bready malt in the finish.
