It poured a cloudy brown color with a moderate off-white head. The aroma was of malt and not too much else going on. The flavor was the same weak malt followed by a fairly bitter hoppy finish. A decent brew. Indra (2711) - Suburbia, Kansas, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Draft at the brewpub. Toasty, nutty, lightly sweet aroma with hints of cocoa and oak, some light brown sugar and faint hop spice. Clear dark red-brown color, with a fine, fading head. Flavor profile is lightly sweet, toasty and mildly oaked, more brown sugar and faint chocolate, very low bitterness towards the finish. Not nearly as much oak as expected, but that might not be a bad thing with this one. A very Brown Ale-like hybrid lager, quite drinkable. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - JAN 22, 2012
On tap at brewery. Dark brown with a fizzy white head. Malty lightly roasted grain and woody aroma and taste with a tannin heavy finish.
