COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brown-colored German ale is a double strength version of the classic Altbier and benefits from extended aging prior to filtration. The resulting beer exhibits hints of chocolate, herbal hoppiness, and clean malt bitterness.

Draft at the brewpub. Sweet, malty, bready and lightly fruity aroma, with notes of tobacco, licorice, red apple skin, faint pear and cocoa. Clear medium red-brown color, head is fine and lasting. Flavor is malty, bready, fruity and nicely hoppy, with a generous degree of bitterness surging towards the finish, along with the bready, chocolatey malts, faint herbal tones and faintly detectable alcohol presence. Nicely toasty, grainy maltiness late, along with a slight orange character. Very nice.
