12oz. bottle. Lightly sweet, fruity nose, somewhat malty and citric with notes of caramel, brown sugar, grapefruit, faint earthiness and a certain spicy, leafy tone in the background. Mostly clear medium copper color with a lasting, fine, uneven head, quite attractive and enticing, really. Pretty nicely balanced, with a decent amount of caramel and biscuit malt flavors, combined with a sharply citric, floral, spicy, gently tea-like hop character and a substantial amount of bitterness that appears towards the finish, drying out the profile and lending a clean, lightly resinous feel. Some lingering faint bubblegum notes very late. Palate is moderately effervescent and refreshing, body is medium-full. Certainly nice to see some seasonal offerings in bottles from Free State around here, and to be able to pick up an IPA that is guaranteed to be as fresh as anything around. Bottle. Pours a clear iced tea brown with a loose off-white head that leaves a web of lace upon the glass. The nose is of biscuity malt backed by citrus, sweet/tropical fruit and (rye-like) spicy notes. Medium-bodied and silky-soft with a lingering, tongue-squeezing, and moderately resinous bitter-hopped finish. The flavor is a step up from the nose, with citrus and passion fruit hop notes over a soft, biscuity malt backing transitioning to a long bitter finish. While the aromatic additions took a back-seat to the malt, on the nose, the hops definitely take front-stage in the flavor profile. As I get deepen into the glass, my enjoyment of this one begins to wane a bit. While the hop profile is interesting, it begins to strip the tongue of moisture leaving a long, "green", herbal bitterness that I’m not really digging. It’s certainly not something I would consider sessionable. WillRunForBeer (2652) - Massachusetts, USA - JAN 5, 2014
Bottle. Pours amber gold. Aroma is citrus, cereal. Taste is a little syrupy with grapefruit hop. razzanof (72) - Leavenworth, Kansas, USA - NOV 14, 2014
From a bottle poured into a pilsner glass. An aroma of pine leads to an interesting taste of pine and citrus with a strong coppery backbone that resonates on the palate. An interesting winter IPA... jmohno (1618) - Iowa, USA - NOV 21, 2014
Description is pretty spot on but color is a brilliantly clear light copper. Aroma is a clean citrus with slight tropical as described, some resiney hops. Orange notes. Nice strong fresh hop. Taste is hoppy with a fairly strong bitter, piney grapefruit like. Caramel malts-medium, fairly dry finish, light medium sweetness. Good hop aroma flavor and bitter for an ipa. Taste has a tad bit of old off-yeastyness to it however. Overall a pretty good standard ipa but not near a favorate.

Pours a beautiful amber red, a deep amber, between a dopplebock and an IPA, small head and thin lacing, nose is very hoppy, smells of cascade hops and citrus fruit; tastes hoppy bitter, rich; smooth and dry, longish finish, OVERALL: Very nice sm5561 (118) - Kansas City, Alabama, USA - OCT 27, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Pours amber colored, clear with 2 inch white frothy head that lingered and left some web-y lacing. Aroma is all hops and very pleasant. I got a lot of grapefruit and other citrus with some floral notes as well. Taste is similarly a lot of citrus and hops flavors. It has a medium body, a little fuller than most single IPA’s I’ve had. bobbyberbiglia (188) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - JAN 7, 2013
12oz Bottle A - Pours clear amber with a small white head. Ok lacing. S - Resiny hops & sweet citrus. T - Resin, pine grapefruit, thought there would be a bigger malt backbone because of the color. M - Medium bodied, tingling carbonation, bitter finish. O - Nice solid IPA. markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 24, 2013
12oz bottle courtesy of RobertDale. Pours a clear copper color with a white head. Nose is some biscuity malt, some light fruit, some pine, and some citrus. Flavor starts with some biscuit, then goes to pine and some citrus with lingering pine in the finish. Medium in body and nice overall. polomagnifico (1202) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - DEC 19, 2013
Bottle from RobertDale, thanks man! Aroma has nice stinky hop notes of citrus, tropical fruits, resin and herbs. Medium clear amber hue with a small white head that mostly diminished and left some lace. Flavor is medium sweet and very bitter. Palate is medium bodied and watery soft. Overall a solid IPA.
