GABF 2010. POurs a deep dark brown nearing black with a thin head. Aroma is nutty chocolate, some light roasted barley, some fresh cherry juice, pitty earthy and cherry skins. Flavor is a bit of tart cherry over some tobacco, chocolate, roast, nuts, medium sweetness upfront but it fades to a dry earthy nutty finish with more cherry juice, skins, pits, tannin and gets a little tart, mineral and almost astringent. thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2010
(Draught at GABF) near black pour with a dark tan head. Nose of sweet caramel, roasty, and syrupy cherry aromas. Taste of sweet real cherry syrup, roasty, awesome balance between the fruit and stout, also tastes like french toast. Great coffee/toasty/cherry linger. This is perhaps Freetail’s best beer to date. Very close in my opinion.
