4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Freetail bottle release. Aroma is sour, slightly floral and slightly sweet. Appearance is an absolutely gorgeous ruby red with a pinkish bubbly head and delicate lacing. Medium carbonation. Taste is sour and fruity with hints of rose, lavender, berries and grapes. Smooth and easy to drink. Absolutely does not taste like it’s 6.9% ABV so be careful! One of my Freetail favs for sure!

From notes. Tasted on 1/27/13 from a capped 22oz bottle, big thanks to Curtis for sharing. Pours clear, bright pink with an average white head that leaves average lace. The nose is tart and funky with prickly pear, very interesting, with some dill American oak. The flavor is tart and funky citrus, a touch of sweetness from the prickly pear, and plenty of American oak with a hint of dill and coconut. The body is light with average carbonation and a long oaky and sour finish.

22oz bottle. Poured a reddish/pinkish tinged and hazy amberish color with a small sized off white head. I’ll be the odd man out, just something about this one that wasn’t my taste ... it wasn’t bad, but it just wasn’t a huge stand out to me. Must be the pickles I was getting as I really don’t like pickles. Dogbones (116) - North Carolina, USA - JAN 26, 2014
Smells like a pickle. Tastes like a pickle. Where’s my pork sandwich? Great beer! Clear color with no opacity!

Batch 2. Had this fresh, and now ~9 months old. Surprisingly lost a bit of red hue since then. Hmmmm. djd07 (16317) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Fruity prickly pear dances like nobody's watching. Deliciously juicy, a little sour, watermelon galore! A tad reminiscent of of watermelon Jolly Ranchers.
Unique among Amercan sours. Wish I had more than one bottle left.
On tap at brewpub. Pours a cloudy ruby with medium frothy pink head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is sour fruit and vinegar. Thin mouthfeel with a sour fruit and oak with tart finish. A very impressive sour ale from Freetail. Gription79 (2892) - Bountiful, Utah, USA - APR 17, 2013
Poured from a 22 ounce bottle, thanks to the Boise guys. Notes of celery, fruity, watermelon rind, vegetal, watermelon on the finish. Interesting, it has a nice personality. Sledutah (7979) - Utah, USA - APR 14, 2013

Appearance: Hazy pink with a small pink head, no lacing
Aroma: Tart, sweet fruit and watermelon
Taste: Tart fruit with a dry finish
Very nicely done.
Bottle at the 4/13 tasting. Pours an amazing color, pinkish hues with a small white head. A rich nose that really reminded me of a jolly rancher, probably watermelon. The flavor was so unique I don’t know much about cacti: sweet watermelon-like flavors, very juicy, loads of sweetness some oak. Damn nice.
