COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
9.1% ABV, 50 IBU A growing South Texas tradition, La Muerta is brewed each year for Día de los Muertos in honor of our departed friends and family. A big, lush Imperial Stout, La Muerta is full of roast, smoke and chocolate flavors from an array of specialty malts that go into this garnetblack ale. If you are holding this bottle, it means either you (or someone you know with a kind heart) boldly stood in line for hours on the first Saturday of November. Karma rewards those who give selflessly, so share with your closest compadres or a new friend. La Muerta will age wonderfully for years to come – we recommend enjoying one now and save some for the future, if you can. ¡Salud!

Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pours opaque black. Nose slightly soapy, green pepper, light roast, some dark chocolate. Taste bitter roast up front, light chocolate, very faint pepper. Mild bitter roast finish. Older bottle and seems a little flat.

On tap at Freetail. Dark black and red. Light brown rim. Smells of coffee. Very smooth. Sits nicely on the palate with coffee and sweet dark chocolate. Good beer.

Excellent beer by a local San Antonio brewery. I had this on tap. Dark as night. Coffee, roasted malty notes. Foamy head. Dense. The booze is there but not overpowering. Full body. Smooth wash down. A beer meant for deep Autumn or a cold Winter’s night.

Bomber from Bu11zeye. Pours dark brown/black with no head. Aroma seems smoke, very. Full bodied or nearly. Flavor is smoke, ash dark malt, and some pepperiness. Getting a little chocolate. Really outstanding.

Clear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dry wood - smoke, chocolate, dark roasted, smoke notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sugary, sweet malt, roasted, molasses, light chocolate - coffee. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle in Breckenridge with my dad. Pour is pitch black with a fluffy brown head and great lacing. Big smoke, meat drippings, cocoa, light coffee, marshmallows, and graham crackers in the aroma. Taste is smoky, dark chocolate dipped marshmallows, graham crackers, espresso, earthy hops, and grass with a toasted bitterness on the backend. Think mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Nice stout.

Pours a nice dark black color, a little thin on the viscosity scale. Chocolate, roasted malt are mainly present on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a hint of burnt nuts, probably the smoke they talk about.
