Bottle. Clear ruby maroon color, large beige head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of sour plums, dates, subtle raisins. Taste is softly sour dark fruit and a bit of coffee. Very nice. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 3, 2013
The beer is reddish amber hued with an inch of foamy beige head. The aroma offers red wine, tannins, oak, acetic yeast, port, currants. Smells nice. The flavor follows suit, offering nice complexity and balance. A nice tart finish with alcohol content well disguised. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A delightful beer to sip and savor. Bottle: Poured a deep red/dark burgundy color ale with a average size foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of oak and vinous notes with light acidic notes. Taste is a nice mix between some port notes with light woody notes and some vinous notes. Acidity level is quite balanced with a nice level of tart notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Nice sour ale with good overall balance. Dixonian (1562) - Plano, Texas, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Deep amber brew, slight head. Nose is slightly sour with dark fruit, oak, and leather. Lively and full bodied - flavor is cherry, wood, vinous. Delicious TX brewed sour, glad I grabbed a couple to age. djd07 (14366) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 6, 2012
On tap at RealTail 2012. Pours a cloudy amber with a small creamy beige head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is vinegar sour fruit and oak. Thin mouthfeel with a strong tart and light malt and funk. Easy to drink hiding alcohol well, a very good sour ale from Freetail.

22 oz. brown bottle purchased at the brewpub. Poured into a tulip. It looks dark brown as it pours and almost black in the glass. Aroma has cherries(a lot), a little lemon, and some vinegar but not much. A really good aroma. The taste is strongly acidic in a vinegar sort of way, cherries, and what seems like a wine barrel character. An acetic forward sour. It almost burns at the back of the throat. The taste is a definite dropdown from the aroma. Not really my cup of tea or I mean glass of beer Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - NOV 13, 2012
Aroma of sour cherries. A dark brown pour with mostly diminishing off-white head. The taste is medium sour - sour cherries, port wine notes. Light bodied with minimal carbonation. Crisp. Overall, enjoyable.
