Like Freigeist Abraxas, it’s also inspired by the style Lichtenhainer, but this version is stronger (6% alc.) and contains more lactic sourness. Brewed until 2012 at Braustelle (375 ml bottle), from 2013 at Göller in Zeil (330 ml bottle).

Smoky more than sour. Milky, but also, somehow, thin. Not bad, but didn’t live up to my Oh too high expectations.

16.9 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of smoke, tart and some citrus. Taste is smokey, salt and tart.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2016 Pint at Vultures’ Lane. So smoky, the wheat and sour both take a backseat and that’s a shame. I like it but I feel it could have been so much more.

500ml bottle from Bottle Jockey, tasted at Matt’s. Aroma and taste are very smokey, oil, mazut, wheat. Very interesting.

On tap. Not my cup of tea. Odd, lingering aftertaste that bothered me. Feel on the tongue was also....unpleasant. I wanted to like this one but I cannot. Next....

Tap at Beergeek Bar Freigeist tap takeover. Slightly grainy, cereal, oatmeal like. Moderate level of beechwood smoke. Faintest hint of lactic acid. Thin bodied and easy drinking with a high carbonation. Very good.

Fules (1266) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - JUN 10, 2016
Közepes, gyorsan eltűnő hab, egészen sötét félbarna szín. Kissé savanykás, füstölt búzás illat. Enyhén savanykás, hajszálnyit sós, füstölt búzasörös ízek, szinte semmi keserű. Közepesen szénsavas és testes, jól egybesimuló ízekkel. Nagyon finom, igazán frissítő ital.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours golden with a light haze, thin white head. Aromas of smoke, sour lemons, bread. Taste is smoky, spicy, more sour lemon. Quite a complex blend of flavours going on. Clean finish too. Nice.
