Keg at the hanging bat. Pours hazy orange, nose is toffee, light fruit, taste is smoky, salty, dry. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - JAN 4, 2016
Bottle. Poured a murky ruddy amber color with not much head. Aroma of smoke, peat, with hint of meat and wheat. Smoky and smooth; some sweetness and sour notes in the finish. Found it pretty darn easy to drink. glennmastrange (2897) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - DEC 30, 2015
Bottle. Moderate light bread and grain for the malt, faint lemon peel for the hops, light dried leaves for the yeast, with just a hint of smokiness. Head is small, fizzy, white with some slippery lacing and is almost fully diminishing. Color is clear medium amber. Flavor starts slightly sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic slightly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a soft carbonation. Less tart than I expected, but this Lichtenhainer is crisp and smooth at the same time.

Cloudy, golden color. Medium-sized, white head Aroma of smoked ham and wheat malt with hint of yeasty fruitiness . Smoky and sweet taste , balanced by gentle lactic acidity . Refreshing and easy to drink. DCLawyer (2846) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - DEC 21, 2015
Backlog. Draft at Churchkey. Orange-gold with small offwhite head. Smoky, with citrus sweet malt. Some sour notes are present but in the background. Interesting. UrbanCaveman (193) - Ohio, USA - DEC 17, 2015
Pint bottle, poured into a shaker pint at ~50 degrees F.
Appearance: Pours a deeply cloudy straw gold, and forms virtually no head. What head does form is white bubbles, which vanish completely in short order.
Smell: Deliciously smoky, all charred wood over a base of semi-sweet wheat malt and some vague hints of light fruit.
Taste: Hardwood smoke and ash colors the entire tasting experience, overlaying the rest of the flavor profile with shades of fire and char. Beneath the smoke, a light wheat malt base forms a somewhat crackery-toasty backbone, amidst which notes of salt, white grape, pear, apple bark, and something akin to bell pepper swirl by. At the finish, the smoke recedes just enough to allow a brief burst of concentrated salt and black pepper through, ere settling into a wood smoke aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Just this side of completely flat, with an almost oily creamy weight that breaks down towards watery at the very end of each sip.
Overall: A delightful smoked light wheat beer, with just a hint of mineral saltiness. I approve, and will repeat. DandyWolfFloyd (1212) - Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2015
Quite interesting beer. In my experience there is no beer comparable in attributes.
Aroma - is tart and full lactic barnyard sort of funk. The smoke doesn’t come through, not much anyway.
Appearance - golden body with a white head that fades quickly into a thin ring.
Taste - is weird in the most enjoyable way. There is a definite tang, not too sweet not too sour ~ but then there is a beechwood smoke that hangs around subtle but good.
Palate - body is light, texture thin, carbonation is lively, the finish is tart and tangy. It is like drinking a fine light Lambic in a smokehouse.
Most unusually pleasing. Mister_Li (1479) - GERMANY - NOV 13, 2015
Trübes gelborange mit durchschnittlicher Schaumkrone. Malzig, rauchig, etwas Speck, eine leichte Säure, sehr süffig.
