Bamsen78 (5538) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2015
Bottle, well past the BBD. Pours cloudy very dark brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and fruit, with notes of yeast and some dusty touches. Bitter, roasty flavour with malty and estery notes and dusty and vinous notes. Lingering, roasty and vinous aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Very nice.

Habanero (4795) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, DENMARK - JAN 14, 2015
Tap. Deep brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and dark fruit. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry, slightly bitter with alcohol. Medium to full bodied, oily texture and flat carbonation. A very nice Impy.

Alengrin (5629) - BELGIUM - AUG 2, 2014
German example of a totally non-German style, actually a rye beer modified into an imperial stout. Beige, moussy head, black colour. Aroma of fondant, toasted bread, peat, rye, liquorice; malty taste with chocolate and liquorice, sourish touch from the rye, bit earthy, long dry roasted bitter finish.

mcberko (18557) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 2, 2014
On tap at the Alibi Room for Camrapalooza 2014, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out lots of grainy notes, sweetness from the rye no doubt, with roast and caramel. Flavour is rich and hearty, with sweet caramel malt, roast and grainy notes. Very robust, silky and thick on the palate. A little sweet but not cloying. Good stuff.

jmgreenuk (9857) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle at the "Lets celebrate the fact that Dean is already the Mayor of M&S Den Haag even though it’s only been open for 24 hours tasting!". Poured a dark mahogany with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is sweet malt. The flavour is medium it strong bitter with a rich alcoholic liqourice bitter palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

kermis (14479) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 18, 2014
Bottle at Klooster, Delft. Pours near black with a ring tan head. Aroma of big roast, barrel notes, caramel, overripe dark fruits. Flavour is over moderate sweet and bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Nuffield (4189) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Funky rye aroma--easily spotted and off-putting to me, but I have a bad history with rye beers. Murky, grassy aromas, like someone near me is chopping hay. Flavor is a bit smokey, and the palate is balance, frothy and rich in equal measures. Interesting, not great. (on tap, Church Key, Washington DC)

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 22, 2013
Draft. Large tan head with nice lacing atop black body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, rye, some earthy, bittersweet chocolate, grapefruit. Taste is moderately sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some rye, earthy, roast, grapefruit. Medium-full body, fairly smooth.

Daytonbeer (730) - Ohio, USA - JUL 20, 2013
Pours black with no head or lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, smoke, some sour. Taste is the same. It’s ok, but the more I drink it, the less impressed I get.
