oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - FEB 2, 2016
Bottled (backlog). Black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some chocolate, mild berries as well as some funk and sour wood. Flavour is roasted malts, some chocolate, liquorice and alcohol sweetness, but getting a nice sourish edge to it. Balanced, and a bit more mellow than the "basic" Deutscher Porter.

Martinus (4601) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - APR 11, 2012
Black colour, beige head. Aroma of Brett, liquorice, hay, hops and roasted malts. Salty sweet flavour, light sour tones, malts and liquorice (katjesdrop). Light astringent. Finish light tart, somewhat sweet with salty liquorice tones. Very special, quite OK, and a rather good combination with strong cheese.

3.3
Nordcore (1452) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - FEB 28, 2012

Grima (2394) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - FEB 22, 2012
On Tap @ ACBF 2011
The beer in the glass is jet black and opaque, creamy with a fine head. The Porter smells very hoppy and roasty, slightly sweet. Starts with flat carbonation. The aroma is sweet malty, strong hoppy, but slightly bitter. Slight roasted malts in background. The finish is also very dominant hoppy. The sweetness increases in the further course, the fine aroma of hops is always in the foreground. Very successful Porter!

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is wood, vanilla, spices, some roast and liquorice. So far so good. Flavourwise... Outch, I can see what they tried, but it failed. Weird sourness with the salt clearly as a separate taste instead of a taste enhancer. Weird stuff.
