The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours amber with a off-white head. Taste is syrupy, quite fruity, floral, with a hefty sweet maltiness. Taste is rather sweet, but very far from cloying. Tap at CK thanks to craftycarl21! Thick brown haze head great foam. Huge lacing. Nose is excellent pancake, strawberry syrup, smoke. Taste is malty, toffee, pancake batter. Rich, dense. Draft, Snallygaster. Medium of-white head atop dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some hibiscus, orange. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, light orange, flower, faint cherry. Light-medium body, some effervescence.

Enjoyable beer. If you’ve ever had hibiscus tea, it has that same aromatic smell with a bit of a light fruit punchy flavor that you’d expect. It tastes like lightly sweetened hibiscus tea with a bit of Belgian strong ale in the background. Unfortunately, theres none of the sour or wild notes I’d expect. The way I make my hibiscus tea is actually more sour than this beer. Potentially a great beer for a friend who doesn’t like beer. This one definitely needs longer on the yeast to mature, though. Draft at Birch & Barley. Not pink, no tanks. Muddy chestnut color, fine lacing. Aroma of earthy caramel. Taste is slightly sour and earthy.
On draft at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont. Poured a slightly dark indigo copper color with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma was dried fruits, some light sour, but not sour-sour. Flavor was a very light tart character, not that sour, but interesting enough.
