Draft at Birch & Barley. Not pink, no tanks. Muddy chestnut color, fine lacing. Aroma of earthy caramel. Taste is slightly sour and earthy.
Tap at CK thanks to craftycarl21! Thick brown haze head great foam. Huge lacing. Nose is excellent pancake, strawberry syrup, smoke. Taste is malty, toffee, pancake batter. Rich, dense. Wasn’t sour or really what I’d call a hibiscus beer- way too malty/rich. Iphonephan (7287) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - OCT 31, 2013
On draft at ChurchKey DC during the Night of the Living Ales on halloween. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with an ecru head. Malty nose. Flavors of plums, prunes and dark cherries. Smooth, slightly tart finish. deliciosity (12) - USA - OCT 10, 2013
Enjoyable beer. If you’ve ever had hibiscus tea, it has that same aromatic smell with a bit of a light fruit punchy flavor that you’d expect. It tastes like lightly sweetened hibiscus tea with a bit of Belgian strong ale in the background. Unfortunately, theres none of the sour or wild notes I’d expect. The way I make my hibiscus tea is actually more sour than this beer. Potentially a great beer for a friend who doesn’t like beer. This one definitely needs longer on the yeast to mature, though. Draft at Monks. Dark rose pour. Off-white foamy head. More malt forward than I was expecting. Like a mix of chocolate milk and fizzy orange. Blood orange. Passionfruit. Tootsie Rolls. The hibiscus is bringing out an unusual mix of flavors from the malt.

Stretch labelling this as a sour or wild. The hibiscus dominates perhaps it should be a herb spice beer.solidfunk (9409) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - SEP 12, 2013

Interesting imperial altbier. Huge on floral notes tastes a bit old but otherwise nice.
Orange clear pour with foam and some lacing. Some hibiscus, nice malt comes together well but not super sour. On tap at Ebenezer Kezar’s. radagast83 (8476) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - SEP 20, 2013
On draft at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont. Poured a slightly dark indigo copper color with a small slightly off-white head. Aroma was dried fruits, some light sour, but not sour-sour. Flavor was a very light tart character, not that sour, but interesting enough. I didn’t get a whole lot of flowers, but then again I’m not usually eating a bunch of hibiscus flowers. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 21, 2013
Draft, Snallygaster. Medium of-white head atop dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some hibiscus, orange. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, light orange, flower, faint cherry. Light-medium body, some effervescence. mansquito (6914) - Nueva York, New York, USA - OCT 27, 2013
The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours amber with a off-white head. Taste is syrupy, quite fruity, floral, with a hefty sweet maltiness. Taste is rather sweet, but very far from cloying. There is no sourness that I could really identify. Nice body. Some hibiscus. Nice body. Easy to drink.
