Pours a dark brown coloration with a medium, frothy head. There's a definite estery sweet banana aroma there that really comes out after swirling the beer, but also slight hints of coffee and roasted malt. Taste follows the nose, with an estery banana off-flavor detectable that is pretty mild though and thankfully mostly overshadowed by roasted malt, caramel and coffee notes. Medium bitterness and decent mouthfeel. This could be a lot better if it wasn't for the estery off-flavor. (Secret Santa 2017) ischas (902) - - DEC 5, 2017

Bottle at Paul’s soulfood festival: Dark brown colour, off-white yellowish head. Aroma is roasty with toffee, milk chocolate and some coffee.Flavor is sweetish with notes of sweets, liquorice, cacao. Ok but I would prefer a less sweet beer.

Brown color with red highlight and tan head. Aroma is sweet, berries, chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is very sweet, also berries, light bodied, slightly watery. Easily drinkable. Not bad, and quite complex for this lightness. Saeglopur (2536) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - OCT 21, 2015
330 ml bottle from Verde 1080, Vienna.
Dark brownish-copper, clear body, with a medium, creamy, dark beige head.
Aroma of bread, nuts, dark berries, cocoa, some hops.
Taste starts sweet with caramel, nuts and berries and merges into a medium dry roastiness, with cocoa, dark chocolate, dark bread, some coffee, some tea notes, subtle hops.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes roasty, a bit dry, also sweet, with cocoa, dark bread, some fruits, slight hops.
Nice one. Interesting, diverse aromas and good drinkabilty. A bit too sweet though, while there is also a distinctive roastiness. Overall not my favourite Schwarzbier from Austria, but a nice style example.
