It is our great honor to brew this, our second annual Bellingham Beer Week beer, to say Thank You to the amazing craft beer community in the fine alternate universe of Bellingham. We began the Cowiche program in partnership with the Carpenter and Britt families and the fine folks at Select Botanicals and Yakima Chief to promote the organic hop industry in Washington state. 10% of all proceeds from the sale of this beer will be donated to the Cowiche Canyon Conservency. Down & Dirty: 2-Row Pale, Weyermann Pilsner and Honey malt with Citra hops. ABV: 7.0% Availability: Released during Bellingham Beer Week, September 12 – 21, 2014

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with light head. Aromas of lemons, rubber, celery, fresh cut flowers, and toasty malts. Flavors of fresh citra, lemons, pineapple, rubber, resin, and bready malts. Short, sharp bitter finish.

Bottle for Bellingham Beer Week 2015. Hazy light amber with a frothy head. Big aroma is so fresh it’s almost not Citra anymore. sweet and creamy pale malt with lots of bitterness and a bright, honeyish and somewhat herbal hop signature. Really tasty stuff.

On tap at Fremont, pours a hay golden orange with a tiny white head. Aroma is very floral, with perfumey notes and a little nail polish. Flavour brings out nail polish remover, floral notes and perfumey notes - too much nail polish remover that it’s quite off-putting. Not good.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a hazy pale golden with a small white head. Aroma is very hempy and earthy, with pot-like hops and floral hops. Flavour is deliciously hoppy, with perfect earthy and hempy hops, a touch of floral notes and just enough malt to back. Extremely well-balanced - a hop lover’s paradise. Excellent.

Lemony Amber color. Pour into a stone brewing glass. A generous amount of hip flavor on the nose. I pick up peach, lemon and grapefruit in the taste. Really fantastic.

Bottled 09.05.14. Poured from a bomber into a tulip on 10.03.14. A: Honey, grapefruit, orange, and maybe mango. Grapefruit and honey are very strong. A: 2 1/2 finger head. See through gold/amber body. T: Grapefruit, honey, pineapple, and mango dominate. Pine, graham cracker, flower, hop resin, and grass are subtle. P: Creamy and soft in the mouth. O: It’s a very complex beer. The flavors blend together so nicely. They aren’t subtle, the beer is just so well done. The Citra hops are so delicious and juicy. This is one of the best IPAs ever.

Dark orange body, medium sized white head and soapy lacing left behind after each sip. Dank grass, mango, grapefruit, orange, pine, and mild pale malts. Medium bodied, with moderate to lively carbonation, aggressive bitterness, clean finish.
