Brewing is the craft of blending science with artistry then introducing the mystical. Field to Ferment exemplifies this adventure. We will brew this fresh hop ale throughout the entire hop harvest in Yakima using each of four hop varieties as they are harvested. At least that’s the plan. Nature may have a different plan. Such is the harvest. In order of harvest, we will brew with fresh Centennial, Simcoe, Citra, and finally Mosaic hops.

Field to Ferment represents a colossal collaboration between the brewery and our hop farmers. No one has attempted to brew fresh hop beers throughout the entire season. Please do enjoy this beer absolutely fresh, and enjoy the adventure this beer represents...Because Fresh Hop Beer Matters!

Can at Maruho. First half pour is a clear deep gold, nice foam lacing. Second half it gets cloudy with particles. Piney citrusy aroma, big fresh centennial, underlying malt biscuit. Flavour shows rich malt with some sweetness, citrus, a touch too much pine for my tastes. Starts with a flat feel, smooth with moderate carbonation, bitterness rises in the back half, more pronounced with each mouthful. Good enjoyable centennial showcase.

Can to pint glass. Hazy orange with white head. Citrus is present but in the back. Ok.

10/12/2016 -- from notes: 12oz can, shared by prufrockstar. Kind of more spicy, peppery than the others. Doesn't beat the Simcoe I tried earlier. A little greener, grassier. Kind of buttery bready malt.

From Amy. Brownish, cloudy with nice white foam. Nice hoppy aroma, hint of fruit. Sweet, toffee, with nice growing grapefruit hoppyness in the aftertaste.

2017 Can. Pours a golden orange color with a nice finger of creamy tan head. Aroma is lively with fruity and floral hops. Tastes rich with hop flavors, light malt. Some sweetness and moderately bitter. Super smooth and flavorful.

Golden amber color. Frothy white hEad. Very heady nose with some citrus notes. Fairly clean palate. Fairly aggressive bitterness with slight underlying malt sweetness that balances things. Not massively complex, but well put together and very well done pale ale

Slightly hazy deep golden hue under a thin foamy white top. Nice bright resinous leafy hop aroma with nice fresh lupulin and light citrus kisses. Brisk semidry flavor that’s leafy and fresh hoppy, lingering low earthy bitterness and a gently sweet pale malt undertone.

Pour is a hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is full of pine and slight citrus. Flavor is a little light and not as hoppy as the aroma would let on. Finish has a little honey malt and almost no bitterness. This was just ok. The aroma was the best thing about this beer.
