Classic grapefruit and pine ipa - well put together, sufficiently aromatic and bitter while still maintaining balance. stevoj (5592) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 15, 2016
Bottle from WinCo. Light bodied but Dank IPA, yellow golden, slick body, tight creamy head. Hoppy aroma eithild grapefruit, taste is much more astringent, grapefruit, pine resin. Finishes sharp and bitter. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 12, 2016
I really like this. A great texture holds a wonderful balance of citrusy fruit and mellow woodiness. It’s very East Coast, very drinkable and moderately bitter. WABeerFiend (426) - - JUN 22, 2016
4.6 overall on 06.25.14. RE-REVIEW: Poured 06.21.16. A: Citrus and green vegetable. A: See through light orange body. T: Follows the nose. There is a twinge of maple, but I would dismiss it as part of my imagination if I didn’t know that this was aged on maple bats. P: Lots of resin and smooth. Nice. O: Last year’s Chinook and Mosaic version was better than this year’s Equinox version. It was like an orange sickle/maple bar. Now, it’s solid, but not as great. 12 oz can, thanks brenn79. Canned 5/16/15, about a month and a half ago. Aroma is citrusy, piney, dank. Pours hazy copper with a large off-white head with good retention. Taste is medium level bitter backed by a candy sweetness. I feel there’s a vegetal-ness that’s trying to creep in here and fuck everything up, but I won’t allow it. In another week I feel the invader will have taken over and eaten the beer’s soul, so better now than never. Good, would have been better fresher. tcon25 (941) - Duvall, Washington, USA - JUN 15, 2015
I remember when this was first brewed by Mariners pitcher Chris Ray remember tracking down the first batch of this beer, and have loved getting it ever since. This is a solid IPA nothing special though, other then the purpose. Summer hops, citrus, crisp flavor, really enjoyable beer. Beerdrinker79 (2218) - Idaho, USA - JUN 5, 2015
12 oz can- Pours dark orange with a large white head that reduces fairly quickly and large white particles floating around, the rest of the sixer i will be more careful not to disturb or tip the can before pouring and leave a half ounce or so in the can. The aroma is strong orange zest, dank piney hops, some light caramel malt, spicy peppercorns. The taste is very hop forward, the malt is a bit heavy for me, sticky, resinous, the oranges come through mostly in the finish, the slugger bats were a cool concept that imparts a dry cedar like finish (i know they are made out of maple). I just wish it was lighter, this would have been a home run. ACHops (1643) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 25, 2015
On tap @ Fremont. Pours clear dark orange with thin white head. Aroma is heavy orange fruit and zest, with floral aromatic hops on the back. Taste is clean, sweet, slightly nutty caramel malt, solid orange - though not nearly as much as on the nose, and crisp light hops on the finish. Maybe a faint woody note from the maple bats, but not much. Lacks the hop punch of Interurban, but orange notes make this a light, refreshing IPA. On tap @ Century Link Stadium, Seahawks vs Panthers divisional playoff game. I’m uncertain whether this is the correct IPA from Fremont, but I’ll place my rating here. This wasn’t quite as deeply copper toned as the Schooner. It had a brighter, fruitier hop profile too. So great to have quality beers in a stadium setting!
