Aroma is out of this world. Not sure if I want to drink, or just sniff. Intoxicating aroma. Very prominent bourbon barrel influence and tobacco. I thought 2015 was good, the 2016 edition is out of this world. Enjoy it if you can get it.

Vintage 2014 bottle. Nice nose of berries, chocolate, Mexican vanilla and figs. Alcohol is very present. It has really mellowed out in the last two years which makes it quite well rounded and not hot. So great!

Tap. Soft tan brown head, opaque black. Overwhelming chocolate and bourbon aroma. Flavor dark chocolate, heavily roasted coffee, nutty, bourbon, oak, vanilla. Intense. It has a strong bite but alcohol is not particularly noticeable. Minimal carbonation. Soy sauce is subdued. Best imperial stout ive had in a while.

Rating reflects 2016 batch. On draft. 2014. Pours a nice jet black with some tan head. Nose has notes of bourbon. Some subtle wood notes. Milk chocolate. Taste is a sweet milk chocolate, some vanilla, and toffee. Heat from the alcohol has mellowed with age hardly noticeable. Nice rich, creamy body. Still excellent years later. On draft. 2015. Inky, jet black with a tan head. Nose is still very bourbon heavy but Im getting notes of leather and caramel. Taste has more of a pronounced coffee flavor. Still chocolate, bourbon, and molasses. Maybe a hint of tobacco. For 14% there alcohol is well hidden. Very creamy, goes down smooth. Draft, 2016. Pours a deep black with tan head. Nose is bourbon, vanilla, and wood. Some tobacco notes. Taste follows the nose, Lots of bourbon, vanilla, oak, but also molasses and maybe caramel. Surprisingly not as hot as youd think itd be given the ABV. Creamy and smooth. Top notch.
