Thanks Carrigan for sharing the bottle! Poured into a wineglass showing sparse latte colored foam with thin coffee brown rims and a dark center.

The nose shows light bell pepper notes permeated around a roast black coffee forwardness.

The palate is medium bodied with no carbonation and a light alcoholic spice. Lightly sweet with a vanilla and bourbon forwardness throughout.

Bottle thanks to Bursprak. Pours black with a bubbly brown head. Aroma of sweet liquorice, sweet bourbon, dark caramel, Cocoa beans, oatmeal and vanilla. The taste is roasted with notes of sweet liquorice, dark chocolate, dark sweets and vanilla. Also you get some sweet bourbon booz towards the end. Pretty solid. Not too sweet.

Bottle, by way of trade with HenrikO, split at Magic Rock. Almost black. Bubbly, tan head. Lots of legs. Nose has big, sweet vanilla bourbon. Some oak. Dried fruit. Plum and prune. Taste is sweet and fruity. Some dried vine fruit. No bitterness. Chewy silky mouthfeel. Rich and slightly twangy. Big, oaky sweet finish.

22 ounces bottle shared with brother. Aroma: intense boozy bourbon, chocolate, delicate oatmeal maybe. Alcohol as well. App: dark brown with burgundy tint, minimal beige / brown head, little lacing. Taste and palate: full body, smooth, creamy, medium sweetness, bourbon, chocolate, light acidity finish. Overall: great stuff. Lots of chocolate in mouth. Great beer. Boozy but in a good way. Another great beer from Fremont.

ciocanelu (3011) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - APR 10, 2017
Pitch black color with mocha head. Aroma has dark malts, brown sugar, some dried fruits and a hint of boozy whiskey. Taste is whiskey forward, quite roasty, some umami, overall on the bitter side. Medium body, really smooth mouthfeel. Overall it’s a well made imperial stout with well hidden ABV but quite classic, doesn’t really stand out between other barrel aged stouts.
