Draft pour is beautiful deep gold, slightly cloudy, capped with a large dollop of sea-foam. Aroma is toasted biscuit, light raw honey, grapefruit peel, fresh pine sap, and stellar herbal notes. The thyme and sage are very well integrated; beautifully bold, but kept in check. Taste is lightly sweet, with ample citrus/herbal bitterness. Medium-full body, semi-weighty texture, creamy carb, and a killer herbal finish. I know many people like their ipa’s bone dry, but I’ve never been in that camp exclusively. Golden biscuit with a fresh, herbal infused, honey glaze? Yes, please. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea, but this just worked for me during this particular time, place, and mood. I hope Fremont does this again, and bottles it.
