Half pour at the source. Not particularly satisfying, but that is more a function of the style. Solid example of an ESB. IMO ranking is too low- scored much beer at BeerAdvocate. Pours a orange copper color- almost no head. Typical for FB. Taste is malty, bready, toffee/caramel sweetness up front but finishes really bitter and dry. It is an ESB, after all. Definite resin and mineral qualities to it. It is what is is supposed to be. hayduke (5619) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 21, 2014
Bottle courtesy of Strykzone. Pours amber with a beige head. Nose of roasted malts. Medium body. Flavor favors malts, and there is a nice bitter finish. Good. WillRunForBeer (2727) - Massachusetts, USA - JUL 17, 2014
Bomber brought by April and Bentley, thanks! Pours orange brown with a sllight off white head. Aroma of wet bread, caramel, a touch of mineral. Flavor is also bready, slight caramel, slight mineral. Very minimal carb. Unlike the bitters More noticable grassy citrus hop in the finish than is traditional. jackl (8287) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Sample @ French Broad during RBWG, Asheville. Amber pour with a small off-white head. The nose is quite toasty. Burnt brown bread. Almonds and trail mix. Light raisin. Taste has a mellow herbal hop accent. Plenty of toffee. Chewy malt. Light body, strong carbonation for the style. Serviceable. TylerGreenDC (1032) - - MAY 28, 2014
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2015 In a 12 oz can. Not sure why this doesn?t rate much higher. Rich caramel flavors without being sweet or sticky, thanks mostly to some citrus hoppiness at the end. Could drink this for days.

I’m not huge fan of the ESB style, but this one is rather enjoyable. Soft carbonation, right amount of hops to malt balance, creamy head, beautiful to look at. Well done. alexsdad06 (10640) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - APR 26, 2014
Draft at the brewery during RBWG. Pours a clear orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted bread, grains, mild caramel/toffee notes with some mild fruity character, light resin and earth. Mild bitterness to the finish. joshharris (9) - St. Peters, Missouri, USA - APR 14, 2014 does not count
Poured from 22 oz bottle. Pours a dark gold. Thin white lace finish. I definitely pick up the caramel in the aroma, as well as the taste. A pretty good beer. Will drink again. jtclockwork (17070) - , New Jersey, USA - MAR 27, 2014
Bottle with Yanick. Pours copper gold with white head. Nose and taste of toasted bread, spicy yeast, light fruit and malty earth. Medium body. rondphoto (4489) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAR 12, 2014
@ Whole Foods Market / Asheville NC --- Dark amber with a thin film head cover, wide streaks of lace. Malt and sorghum open this, adding carbonation and burnt toast in the palate before yielding to solid floral hops in the finish. A little heavy in the stomach, especially for 5.2% abv. Drinkable, not memorable or satisfying.
