COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While known for their lagers, German brewers also produce terrific ales. French Broad’s Kölsch is faithful to the great German ales found in Köln. Golden in color, with a refreshing crispness, pleasantly sweet malt finish, and distinctive German hopping.

Beer #15 Asheville trip. Liked the fact that they just came out and called it a Gateway beer. Having said that, it is a nicely done Kolsch. Clear, golden, nice head. Aroma is biscuity malts. Flavor is a match, just a faint hint of floral hops. Pleasant, well made brew.

Bomber--old rating. Gold color with a short, small, fizzy head. No real aroma noted. Sweet biscuit taste with some yeast. Fruit on the finish. Bought at the brewery, 4.00.

The aroma is malty and slightly citrusy with mild hops. The appearance is hazy gold with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall a very good beer.

the golden taste of this beer is quite nice, taste of light malts, with a touch of honey and spices. large pearl bubbles makes a very nice beer to drink.

This is really light and easy to drink. Not a lot to the beer, but in a good way. Does not have the skunky taste you get with a lot of beer from the Lager family, but makes for a lighter drink to counteract heaviness. Pours golden with a small head.

Tap @ French broad - Pours a clear gold with a white head. Aroma is piney. Taste is bitter sweet, palate is sticky, finishes dry.

Draft. Clear yellow body with a white head. Light aroma of biscuit, lemon grass, toasted grain, herbs. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Fairly crisp except for the touch of raw grain taste. Also tastes of grass, lemon, flowers. Pleasant but not memorable.
