Draft at the brewery taproom during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. Mildly effervescent. Good cereal character, white bread, mild dough. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, pretty clean, with doughy white bread, more cereal, minimal bitterness. Tasty. Nobody showing much love for this kolsch. But I like it. A: The beer pours a pale golden straw color with a huge, rocky, white head.
S: Quite a strange smell for a kolsch. Lemon zest and apple juice are prominent. It’s got a slight champagne character (likely from the high carbonation and yeastiness). Moderate bread notes and some floral hops.
T: Light bread and cracker malts provide much of the flavor. More lemon zest along with some floral and earthy hops. Just a light bitterness to it. The carbonation is extremely high, which diminishes from the flavor intensity a bit.
M: Light in body with very high carbonation.
O: Despite not being terribly "kolsch-like", I thought this was a pretty decent beer. Tmoney99 (14769) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 25, 2007

For my last beer on my Asheville Beer Trip I had to crack something local and special. What better than one of my favorite styles from one of my favorite breweries. 22 ounce bottle from Bruisin’ Ales. Pours a slightly hazy vibrant yellow colro with a large white head. Average head retention and good lacing. Very grainy aroma with some subtle grassy hops. Taste is grassy hops with a soft graininess. Medium bodied.
