Red-brown color, clear, rocky head, tan foam, caramel, cereal, roasty, herbs, earthy, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, slick feel, soft carbonation, long finish, Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - JAN 25, 2011
Bottled 50cl. Courtesy of Quack-Duck. It pours a clear copper brown beer with a nicely remaining creamy light beige head. Caramel, moss, raisin, candy floss, lavender honey, tobacco, dried apple and lovage showing up in the nose which is malt accented. The taste is surprisingly sweet. Medium bodied. Luscious malt presence. Perfectly balanced. A lot of caramel, asparagus and candy components. Late bitterness. Beautiful lacework. Delicate carbonation. Faintly smoky. Good hop profile. Surprisingly chocolatey finish which is dry, reminiscent of chocolate powder and papaya. I prefer the taste over the nose. Definitely a delicious Dunkel. Top notch. I am impressed. Thanks a lot Quack-Duck! Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - JUL 4, 2011
Malziger und opulent schokoladiger Geruch. Antrunk kräftig malzröstig. Intensiv röstige, würzmalzige Mitte, welche an geröstete Erdnüsse erinnert. Dunkelmalzig und schokoladig-würziger Ausklang.
Sehr gutes Dunkles.Test vom 18.1.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche

The beer in the glass is shiny black and red with a flat, short-lived head. Smells caramel malty, with some toffee and roasted malt. That’s how a good Dunkles has to smell! The beer starts with sweet caramel malt and a subtle chocolate note. In the background it’s slightly roasted bitter. The aftertaste is very malty, also again pleasantly chocolaty with long finish. By the middle part to finish, the beer is still good caramel malt, pleasantly bitter, with good roasted malts in background. BeerBaboon (2144) - FINLAND - APR 14, 2012

Flasche in Kastl - Sehr dunkle Farbe, stabile große Schaumkrone. Leichte Röstmalzaromen, Schokolade, etwas torfig. Leicht süßlich. Im Abgang eher trocken. Langanhaltend. Sehr gut. jann3 (423) - Espoo, FINLAND - DEC 20, 2013
Dark reddish brown color. Big beige head, that leaves nice lacing. Lively carbonation. Aroma is sweetish with malty caramel notes. Taste is swetish too with notes of caramel, bread and roasted malts. Some slightly bitter herbal notes in the finish. Well balanced and very delicious dunkel. (0,5 l bottle, best before 19.2.2014.)
