Swing top bottle. Slightly sweet smoked meat malt aroma. Dark reddish brown color with giant tan head. Sweet caramel malt and smoked meat flavor - a bit light but nicely blended. Subdued smokiness but very good.

cubs (10693) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 24, 2012
Bottle @ Uncle Chris’ house in Fürth. A bit hazy, reddish orange appearance with a light brown head. Lightly smoked, bacon, bacon, bacon, caramel, toasty malty aroma. Somewhat ashy smoky, rich bacon meaty, caramel flavor. Well carbonated. Really a nice beer worthy of picking up a rack.

blipp (9590) - La Mesa, California, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Draft. Pours amber brown with an off white head. Rich smoked malts, light sweetness, and toasted bread. There’s a very light fruity sweetness as well. Very drinkable, and really damn good. Not quite on the level of Schlenkerla but still awesome.

0,5l Bügelflasche aus dem Brauhaus. Dunkles Kastanienbraum mit sehr schönem beigen feinem Schaum. Top Optik. Röstmalz Duft. Sanfte Süsse. Angenehmer Rauch. Dazu Nüsse. Im Antrunk kräftiges Röstmalz. Schöne Bitternoten und Rauch. Bitterschokolade. Trotzdem rund. Sehr gelungenes Rauchbier.

Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 7, 2009
Draft @ Friedels-keller, Kreutzberg. Beautiful dark opaque mahogany/deep brown wood color with a little head. The aromas are clean, with mostly smoke and wood. The palate is QUAFF. The flavors are wood, tannings, smoke, char. A dry smoky tannic yum beer.

Oakes (18472) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 13, 2009
Hazy chestnut colour. Smokey nose with rich caramelly, brown sugary malts. Rich smoke taste. Chewy, nutty, sugary...good balanced allows the brewer to pack some extra smoke in this one.

TimE (6067) - Tokyo, JAPAN - DEC 19, 2009
Dark brown color. Tobacco leaves, dark chocolate, cardamon, massive roasted malt notes in the nose. Amazing amazing nose. Smoke smacks your lips on first sip, then cheddar cheese and chocolate. Great. Smoke just lingers. Very dry finish. Amazing all the way.
