Une bouteille de 75 cl. Meilleure avant la fin 2013. Merci Bieropholie.

SlovakSniper (5387) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 3, 2013

MartinT (9653) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 24, 2012
My Bottom Line:
This foamy Barley Wine sends citrusy hop resins onto overt yeastiness for a rough but very flavorful take on the style.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of frothy foam tops the muddy beige amber.
-The aroma is more redolent of Double IPAs than Barley Wines. An American-take on the style, thus.
-Complexity is relatively low for this type of sipper.
-There isnt much malt complexity.

Bottle.

Diogne (1207) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 21, 2012
Orange body with a thick foamy beige head. Aroma is caramel, candied fruits, southern comfort, yeast and a hint of alcohol with something similar to green hops. Flavor is a bit acidic (might be infected) with toffee, candied fruits, warming alcohol, hops resins and a sweet and hot alcohol finish and some hops bitterness. Mouthfeel is way overcarbonated for this style. I would be curious to try another bottle of this as Im not sure this one is in great shape.

Boutip (6171) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 20, 2012
Bottle: Poured a clear light brown/copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet of caramel malt with some hints of toffee is pretty good. Taste is a good balanced mix between some sweet caramel malt notes with hits of toffee and subtle dry fruits. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I didnt pick-up much of the resin hops as expected but Im almost glad I didnt because the malt bill is pretty perfect as- is and there is no need mess with it.
