Rastacouere's rating

Layers of white foam decorate this murky to the point of seeming milky golden ale. Piney, flowery and orangey hop aromas jump at the nose despite the potential lack of freshness. They evolve in a mineral setting, one in which the malts feel round and relatively filling despite the strong carbonation, but also one in which they ironically feel relatively dry and thats despite a noticeable crystal malt presence. That last sentence would usually be a positive trait for me, but it all comes with a certain roughness to the bitterness that borders astringency and cuts the malt deployment with a rudeness that is not soft-edged at all. Warming up, alcohool creeps into the aromatic profile significantly and thats not necessarily desirable in a sub-8% brew. Im sure it would have been more pleasant if fresher, but its still quite a few months before it reaches the expiration date market on the bottle. So all in all, nicely aromatic and with hop varietals I enjoy, but a bit rough on the delivery and as expensive as it is, not something Im very inclined to revisit.

Flasche (33 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin. - Dunkles Braunrot, fast schaumlos. - Enorm intensive Nase: tropische Frchte (Maracuja), se Pampelmuse, Tabak, Karamelmalz, bitterschwerer Hopfen. - Im Antrunk schwere Zitrusfrucht (Pampelmuse). Volles aber nicht zu ses Karamelmalz. Schwach rezent wie ein Kellerbier. Mild-sahniges Mundgefhl. Feine fruchtige Sure. Im Abgang wuchtige krautige Bittere, ein Nachklang von ser Frucht und deutlich prsenter Alkohol, ohne da es fuselig wirkt. - Enorm aromatisches deutsches IPA, direkt und wuchtig.

Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Hazy amber pour with a reserved off-white head. Sweet malts, piney hop, citrus and a little spice in the nose and flavour.. Smooth and very drinkable. Finished quite dry and bitter. Could be one of the tastiest german beers Ive tried.

Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear, dark amber. Thin, lasting, cream coloured head. Handsome. Caramel, ripe red fruit, some diacetyl, but not to any detriment. Taste is ripe, red fruit sweet. Toffee, too. Thick, slightly clarty palate. Bitterness comes right at the end, just when youd almost given up... Which all points to a mediocre beer, but I really liked it. I think Im hormonal...
