Bottle looks really good, beer in the glass also. Starts intense hoppy, some sourish-lemon notes, also a bit grasy. More and more dry, some wheaty notes. Dry finish, a bit dusty. Interesting! Case (300) - GERMANY - MAY 31, 2011
750ml bottle, bought at the Festival der Bierkulturen 2011. This is the double-hopped festival special edition of Fritz Ale. As per the label it has Pale ale, Munich and Caramel malts and is hopped with Amarillo and Simcoe to 59 IBUs. It is also bottle-conditioned with grape sugar. Pours a pale clear orange with small head. Aroma is fantastic - strong and hoppy with lots of grapefruit and pine and also fruity with plenty of orange. The taste doesn’t quite manage to pay justice to the aroma. Carbonation is low and flat and the hop bitterness is rather mild. I remember it being quite a bit better on tap at the festival. Still, this is a really good IPA that is extremely flavourful yet easy to drink at just 5.5% - please brew more, Fritz! pivnizub (10571) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAY 29, 2011
Draught: Deep golden, cloudy, small fluffy white head; grapefruity-piney hoppy nose; dry bitter-sweet flavour, relatively light bodied for a 15.5°, but soft; short bitter-grapefruity finish. Good, but a bit thin.....

(draught) pours the murkiest orange-brown colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of oranges and resin, with hints of grass and honey and lots of maracuja in the finish. flavour is mostly the same, with lots of sweetness, a hint of white chocolate, muscat grapes and alcohol, very resinous in the finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation. In the glass hazy golden yellow, small head.Smells of bitter hops and lots of aromahops. Starts very, very hoppy, very bitter at first and scratchy. This impression is displaced after a few sips through a wonderfully taste of aroma hops. Aftertaste is hoppy bitter, slightly scratchy. The further course is leaded by great aroma hops, very spicy, with reasonable bitterness. Goes into a bitter-dry, slightly fruity finish.
Langer Nachgeschmack, zunehmend trocken, getreidiger Nachhall. 12/13/11/12/11/13
