I’m not going to pay a lot for these malts & hops!!!! I can hear the brewer @ New Ulm now!!!!! So instead of paying a lot for the malts & hops, they just left them almost completely out of the beer. Some light fruitiness and diacetyl are the only redeeming factors for this beer, and one is a flaw. Thankfully, I didn’t pay anything for this beer! It was a leftover from a homebrew club meeting. lizzy (44) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 31, 2004
I appreciate this beer because it doesn’t portray itself as anything more than what it is. I says it right in the name: cheap, boring, and generic. I bought it because the name was funny, but I won’t be buying it again. sethdude (706) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 31, 2004
Pours a slightly yellow water color, almost no carbonation and definitely no head. Smells sweet and adjunct-laden. Flavor is bland and boring, though it does lack the disgusting sour notes many cheap beers have. At least Joe’s makes no claim that this is anything but a cheap, ordinary beer. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - OCT 22, 2004
Looks like water that someone pissed in, I’m serious. Aroma is lighly malty and corny. For the little amount of taste there is, it’s a bit sweet/grainy and a touch of lemon. Pretty bad. Coors light is much better than this. jtw (1163) - farmington, Michigan, USA - AUG 17, 2004
definitely frugal, from trader joe’s. pathetically thin straw color, medium aroma of corn and hops. less offensive than most macro lagers , but that’s all it is...unoffensive.

frugal is right .74 for bottle from trader joes. poured yellow with white head. aroma corn, hops, some sweetness. flavor sweet at 1st than just drops of the face of the earth. weak Drew (2411) - Kent, Ohio, USA - DEC 29, 2003
Light yellow, nearly gold; medium soap bubble head, no lacing. Very light sweet aroma. Flavor is full of corn sweetness and astringent at the finish. Don't be so frugal, spend another buck or two and buy a better beer. Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - SEP 21, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2004 Light golden color, small white head that faded very fast.Malty mildly sweet aroma with hints of corn and very mild hops,The flavor was forgettable mild malt corny with even milder hops and little else to offer.kind of reminds me of a weaker Fat Cat Lager. The price is definately right because the flavor just isn't there. dermo1111 (4) - USA - AUG 6, 2003 does not count
Trader Joe's cheapest beer. Not much taste. No real aftertaste. No body. But, after a day of cutting down trees, a few of these cold are just fine. And you won't break the bank. Aggie80 (818) - Michigan, USA - JUL 11, 2003
Very light yellow with white head and some lacing. Good carbination. This definitely got better toward the end, either because it warmed up or there was enough alcohol to take the edge off.
