Well if you’re going to have a big, mass produced one, why not have a decent one? Not the world’s best Kolsch, but certainly not the worst. Dry, refreshing and with a nice dry aftertaste.

Bottle at home. The colour is like light straw, and with a small white head. Aromas of hay, grass, pale malt, sweet corn, a little bit sour and a hint of vinegar. A lot of pale malt in the flavour a long with hay and some fruit that sends me towards pears. Light but surprisingly silky, almost mealy, mouth feel, and a light bitterness. Pretty close to a pilsener but with another twist on the flavour and mouth feel.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2012 Bottle. Clear, straw. with white frothy head. Strange white wine, sauvignon blanc, - like nessels and currants on nose at first. But the malt kicks in after a while. Bready, industrial. Palate is bland. Watery. Some fruityness, but slight. Nothing from the hops either. Can’t put my finger on it, but there’s almost lika a ginger-ale feeling in this one (minus the ginger flavour). A bit of grainy malts with husks, a bit of wateryness. There’s a lot better kölsches out there. Edit: Added that this was from bottle. I remember it being better on tap though..

Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Beer reminded me at Riesling Sekt, a German sparkling wine. Not like beer at all.

0,5 l bottle shared with McTapps. Nice golden colour. Pours white and stable. Don’t know what was wrong but I didn’t taste anything. A total waste of time. Bad surprise as I expected something else,

Drank out of bottle. A little sweet, a little bitter, a little sour. Not much to the smell. Leaves bitter and metallic aftertaste. Refreshing, but not very exciting.

Clear, light yellow body with a golden hue and an average to large, white head that lasts for some time and leaves some lacing. Faint and boring sweet aroma with pale malts, cereal, lemon and other vague fruity notes. Moderate sweet taste with some light acidity and light bitterness. Lots of refreshing lemon on top of a solid malty background with sweet caramel, but still not terribly exciting. A light dry finish and unfortunately some vague metallic hints as well. Drinkable but boring.
