Lagerboy (2239) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 8, 2017
Bomber. Clear ruby hued deep dark brown, firmer tan foam settles and mostly lasts. Hoppy dark roast aroma. Taste is citric piney hop, dark roast, chocolate, some bitter coffee with a hint of spicy rye. Average carbonation, medium-fuller bodied, well hopped. Eclectic. Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks _Super 8 Bit IPA (2016)_ American IPA at 7% ABV _(C$8.50 at Sundance Wine Market, 650 ml, no bottle date or best before, acquired 26-Jun-2016, reviewed 2-Jul-2016)_ VertBaconStrips (2408) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - JUN 12, 2016
Appearance: nearly opaque black with brown margins, one fat finger of fluffy ivory head, decent retention and patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: roasty malts, sharp rye, citrus, pine. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, high bitter, mild tart. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly tart and mildly astringent bitter finish. (4/5)
Black… rye… IPA… what, you couldn’t whack some Brett in there and tick all the beer hipster boxes at once? OK, it’s a decent enough implementation of all of those factors, I’ll give you that. And given the Citra hops, I’m just glad there’s no cattiness to speak of. But… y’know… maybe that Brett’s not such a bad idea after all? It’s good, yeah, but it’s not next-level good. (15/20)
It is quite possible that this is my fave style. And maybe I drank basically all of this already. Solid sweet roasted background nose, milk chocolate, rrgf, pine, dirt, light spice, orange. Excellent flavour: spice, slight tartness, solid roast, pine, sweet citrus stuff along the lines of orange, lemon and sweet grapefruit, pine, dirt, chocolate, tasty bite, weakest caramel on the teeth suck. The head was retained for the 2hrs this sat in my glass. Very good. Oldschool_Mike (368) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 11, 2016
Bottle into IPA glass. Pours a jet black colour with light brown head. Aroma is a little catty with some citrus and fruitiness. Taste is roasty and fruity. DeanF (2529) - Quebec, CANADA - APR 22, 2016
Bomber bottle founds in Albeerta somewhere, working on my rye obsession ats the moment. Very good bright brown head of decent solidity and carbonated black body. Hoppy grapefruit and lemon aroma, sweet and fruity like an IPA. Flavour is a fine hop mix with just a dash of oak and grain to balance it out. This one is a knock out of the park and really good stuff.

Bottle, shared with Grippitis, Parksy, and PQ. Very dark brown with a light brown head. Equally roasty and piney in character, with moderate body and nice assertive bitterness. Very well balanced between the black malts and the resinous hops. dresden (1581) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - APR 6, 2016
Near black with a nice creamy head. Aroma is roasty and smoky with pine. Very bitter coffee, citrus hops and slight smoke. Overall quite decent Ferris (16722) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 16, 2016
Draft - Lots of roast and big pine. Jet brown with a rich brown head. Lots of roast, nice pine and a aggressively bitter. Really well done. beerplace (2152) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 5, 2016
On tap at Alibi Room. Sweety, dark fruits aroma and taste with some hoppy bitterness. But character of this beer in the aftertaste with hoppy and burnt malt bitterness. Really good aftertaste for black IPA. mcberko (19186) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 3, 2016
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a reddish hue and a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of roasted malt, earthy notes and pronounced hopping amidst all that. Flavour is robust and complex, with roasted malt, lots of dark fruits, earthy notes and of course lots of hops. Quite harmonious and not abrasive at all. Well-constructed and very enjoyable.
